New Release Features:
+ Done-View finally displays FTP-status
+ URLs now have Done/Failed Counters
- click on "FTP-Result" now sorts the URL-view
- delete now deletes all selected items (not only the focused), no matter which way was chosen (context-menu or accellerator key)
- folder view is now correctly updated once a subfolders has been checked
+ added some more default-help-text to folder- and file-view (those lines you get e.g. on previously unchecked URLs)
covers an important bugfix and some tiny updates:
All old versions couldn't handle directories (and files) with a leading space in their name. That one has been fixed.
- fixed load-bug
- updated french resources
Compared to BUILD1300 this one only includes the DLL that was missing. No code update done.
My hoster once again failed in providing a reliable service. The httpd on my host just crashed and they are too damn lame to restart it (reboot the host)... THeir "24x7"-Mail-Support is not answering, their "24x7"-ICQ-Support is offline since 4 Weeks...superbe...
They just suck. Maybe that prevents someone else in trapping into their very nice offers.
Just a few bugs away B] - but hopefully, we will be able to release that new version TODAY !
stay in tuned...
long ago... forgot to update these news 8) - see motd for details ("HELP"->"NEWS...").
- fixed minor GUI issues
+ added ranking by "matching count" :: files that match the selected filters are counted
+ added ranking by "matching size" :: size of files that match the selected filters are summed (incl. files that reside in matching directories)
+ added DB transaction tracing
- fixed DB access code from strange query behaviour ?!??
+ now creates tables in DB once they dont exist (for distributed crawling)
This makes it pretty easy to set up a crawling central. -> have phun !
Go get the latest version !
It now includes the first steps for automated, distributed FTP crawling (spidering). Through a MySQL DB all clients can be feeded with URLs to verify. A client then contacts the FTP-Server, trying to find all content. Then it writes back the names and sizes of all found files and directories to the DB.
..so much for the good news.
Here comes some bad news:
As I allready wrote in our forum...... read more
Yeah, with big help from some nice guys from efnet, we will have a distributed crawling machine within the next days.
FTP-List Checker will get a new purpose:
It may be used for distributed crawling. The central connection between all crawling clients will be a MySQL DB. All those features wont be "hardwired", making the usage of this client easy for any community. The only thing that will be kind of implemented statically, is the DB-Structure - but maybe someone builds an XML-DB-structure-description/parser that sorts this out 8)...... read more
+ added passive transfer mode for all data connections by default (falls back to active, once it failed)
+ added "Crawl from Root"
+ prepared MySQL logging (not done yet !!!)
That release will have some requested options like e.g. crawl starting at the root-directory and direct MySQL support for archiving crawling results.
