I recently got an email from a follower of FriFinans, that has also helped us with some bug-fixing and optimization (thank you). One of the things he told me was that the project could somewhat inactive from the outside if you are not following the updates in CVS. The reason for this is the long latency between releases, announcements and news updates and to some degree that dates in the road map are not met. ... read more

We have now submitted a release candidate for client ver 0.61 and server (new) ver 0.2 i CVS.
This release is mainly a rewrite from a client <-> database release to an client <-> server <-> Database relaese. This will enable a single 'intelligent' server to handle fat clients (e.g. our client ver 0.61 and web solutions, as the server features a API from the maintenance of data in the database.
The client/server communication has also been rewritten to support encryption.
We encurage you to try this release and submit you ideas, comments, complaints etc.

Torben Soerensen, Sponsor and project manager
After a few months of low activity due to other important tasks we are now working full-time during to summer to make a lot of improvements. We hope to finish the chart of accounts, cash daybook, simple products list, creditor module and the first simple posting rutines by the end of August. Maybe also some simple reports.
The creditor module and postings rutines have been made posible due to a sponsorship - thanks to our sponsor.
New screenshots have been added. They are now real pictures from the working program.
FriFinans has been around a few years now on http://www.frifinans.org (danish). We are now moving everything to SF except for the homepage itself (for now at least). This will help us focus on development and not project infrastructure. At the same time the projects shifts development language from Java to PHP/GTK and main language from Danish to English.
We encurage people to join our project. We mostly look for PHP/GTK programmers at this point, but almost everybody are welcome.
