Yup, I'm still subscribed. I haven't been actively been using fog recently (last used v.32), but I plan on installing the newest version soon to see where it's gotten to and what can be done to help move forward. Not sure what the attachment is? It's my public encryption key. If you want to know more about encryption, just ask! Hi list, I wonder how many people are actually subscribed to this list? And if it could be useful to make it alive again, for FOG developers to have a central tool for communication. Tom ? Are you there ? ;) Cheers Gilou |

Hi there! I went ahead and uploaded all the translations to transifex, creating a translation project, as a way of doing it online ;) https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/freeghost/ My plan is to translate that into pt-br on the following days. If you think that transifex is a good idea, I would like to "spread the word" a little bit and get it done in more languages... should I? Thanks! Ps: FOG rocks. Can you provide more specs on the system itself. I have not seen this error before in the past two years of running fog. Also please list software versions. Apache, PHP, MySQL, FOG, OS and OS Kernel version. Hello, (my previous mail bounced, here it is again) this patch adds a getImageByName method to the class ImageManager.class.php. Is it possible to apply these? regards, Martin |

Hello list, (my previous mail bounced, here it is again) attached are 2 patches: * the first removes from images.add.include.php (in managment) the code which adds an image to the database. * the second adds this logic to the file functions.include.php and thus make it available as a "library" call Is it possible to apply these? I'm currently extending fog to be more scriptable, and thus I needed these. regards, Martin |

Hi, I'm interested with adding code to fog for also working at partition level. Targets are upload/deploy not only full disks so also selected partitons. Thus we could select partition to upload/deploy too. May be I need: 1.- Add a database table to save partitions mapped to an image definitions 2.- UPLOADING: When upload an entire host disk, last task will be call a fog server url to put partition info (file name, type ...). That updates image info on DDBB. 3.- DEPLOYING: When select a host/group to deploy with an image, firtst retrieve partition info from DDBB mapped to selected image and put to form, so user can tell if deploy full disk or only selected partitions. These new params can be passed on "Host Kernel Arguments" form field 4.- Also I need to modify init.gz (/usr/bin/fog), and do actions only on selected partions. Someone is working about that? Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Hello, I'm Sergi Tur Badenas from Catalonia. We use fog at a Secondary School (http://www.iesebre.com) We created a patch for automatically updates dhcpd server configuration file. We create a service based on FOGImageReplicator that creates fixed-address sections at dhcpd server file. The patch is submitted at sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2957277&group_id=201099&atid=976201 Feel free of asking my any qüestions... in fact i'm very interested in collaborating at your project. You can obtain more info at my wiki: http://acacha.org/mediawiki/index.php/Fog#FOGDHCPDUpdater_Service Sorry for my English! is not my mother language. After creating a minimal Hardy setup and installing FOG 0.27, I copied my old FOG 0.17 setup to it. Everything looked good, but when my user tried uploading, the task info on the web interface would just say "Waiting for host to checkin...". The client would think everything was fine and actually collect and NFS write an image, but it would not end properly, the web interface never cleared the task, and the image never got moved from /images/dev to /images. After moving the image into place by hand, I had the user try to deploy, but the deploy process never started. Well, I figure out the problem. I probably had to figure it out with my old setup, too, and forgot about it, so I thought I better tell you guys so you can warn people about this issue or fix it in the installer or code. The problem was that, on your basic Ubuntu install, a "127.0.0.1 hostname.domainname hostname" entry exists in /etc/hosts. When fog went to look up the address of the web server to add to the client pxelinux.cfg configuration, it would use 127.0.1.1 (all the other info was correct). The client never gives an error that it can't contact the web server, but the client obviously cannot send important info to the FOG server, since it's trying to contact itself via http. In my case, I just replaced the 127.0.1.1 entry with one with the proper IP address. Thanks, Brent Nelson Director of Computing Dept. of Physics University of Florida PS When making multiple upload attempts, the ntfsresize attempts after the first will just barely fail (try to free less space), and this will cause the upload to fail. The FOG ntfsresize padding precent option might work around this, but it would be nice if this was a little more bulletproof. In our case, a defrag after an attempt would cause enough of a change in the filesystem to prevent the issue. |

I guys am a system admin for African University of science and technology. I have been hearing lots of positive reviews about FOG. so when my university decided to setup a windows lab. I saw it as an oppotunity to have fog installed and see it in action. Unfortunately for me things havent worked quite as planned. after each installation following the wiki to the T. i am still to get a working fog server running. the current issue am having is this error message that comes up when i want to upload and image "Warning: ftp_login() [function.ftp-login]: This FTP server is anonymous only. in /var/www/fog/commons/functions.include.php on line 2266" i tried following this http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Unable_to_connect_to_TFTP but that didnt help the situation. Please guys i would really appreciate if anyone can guide my hands here .. what am i doing wrong. I used a fresh machine. which i installed ubuntu 8.04 server, (ubuntu 8.10 server had the same issue) i have formated and reinstalled the server for close to 7 times still no headway please an pointer would be greatly appreciated cheers |

If you already correct it, I'm sorry to spam...
If the server have more than one network interfaces and if the serving
interface is not the first (eth0), multicast won't work (perhaps other
function may not work), because there is a little mistake in getIPAddress()
