Package v2.2b

Since the release of v2.2 there where a some important bug fixes and other small additions to the API which are not part of the new features planned for v2.3. So all these are packaged in this minor release.

Fire v2.2 package released

Almost 2 months after the previous minor release, the new Fire v2.2 package is available for download. Most of the changes are bug-fixes but there are also a couple of important new features.

The most important addition to this release is the landscape modes and the new way of handling softkeys.

Fire v2.1 package release

The latest version (v2.1) of the Flexible Interface Rendering Engine for j2me applications is available as a package for download.

Check out the new sample code and applications included in the v2.1 release.

Version 2.1 SVN update

With the release of v2.1 we will start using the sourceforge.net tools (bug-tracking, forum, news, svn) as the main tools for developing fire. The svn repository of sf.net will now be the main code repository and the latest source files will be there.

Fire 2.0 stable is available

The stable varsion of Fire v2.0 is available both on the SVN and as a package for download.

There are many improvements since the last release such as a new text based theme format, new Animation, and many improvements on the XHTML browser component. Check the demo application in the package for more.

Fire 2.0 alpha3 on SVN

The alpha3 release is on the SVN.

This release includes many bug fixes both on the core of the engine end on the browser component.

- The browser is now synchronized and can send the events generated inside a page to an external listener (both form events and link pressed events)

- there are two new animation classes one for displaying popup windows and one for animating softkey buttons.

Fire2.0 Alpha released!

A complete new engine with many Great features! The new version of the Fire engine is a (almost complete) rewrite. There are many changes in the core of the engine as well as in the available APIs. The main goal of this release was to provide the performance and rendering capabilities for the creation of an XHTML Browser using Fire.

Latest changes on SVN

To get the latest version of the Fire-j2me engine check-out the code from the SVN repository. The v1.2 package on the downloads section is a litle-bit out of date.
A new release will be available soon.

Fire v1.2 released

Fire v1.2 is out. A few serious bug fixes and lots of minor improvements, and a brand new Component for displaying animations. Check out the mpowerplayer demo of the tutorial application here:

Run the Demo application with mpowerplayer

You can see the features described in the ReadMe.java class (Fire turotial) using the mpowerplayer emulator.

You can get java-web start with the jre, from the java web site (http://java.sun.com)

First stable release of the Fire engine v1.0

The first v1.0 release of the Fire Engine is available for download.
Check the notes included in the released package as well as the tutorial (in the ReadMe.java) on using the library.
