Sourceforge problem: Wiki data lost

It seems that some joker tried "rm / -rf" on the sourceforge web server and killed all files owned by nobody. This seems to happen to all projects with dynamic content. This took away all our wiki pages with all the work done for the website and the documentation.

I asked the SF staff for reinstalling a backup but at the moment I can't say wether they will take the time to do this. If someone has local backups of some of the documents, please send them to me!... read more

Empire website now managed via CVS

Because creating a brand new website is one of the first steps in building a good Sourceforge presence I decided to manage the website via CVS. Project members may contribute their work for the site via the "htdocs" project in the final-empire Repository.

first phase of new graphic engine ready

The old, very slow graphic engine has gone. We have a new, very slow engine. :-) It is in the CVS. Now we have a new graphic format and we will be able to optimize it by doing very basic block-copy-operations in C/C++. This will be the next phase.

We use graphic scripts for creating scalable pictures. There are not much scripts up to now so many things will show up as blocks but Michaela is working on this from now on. Feel free to use the "Grafikeditor" menuitem to do it yourself.

Final Empire now on SourceForge

Final Empire, a clone of the classic game "Empire deluxe", is now on SourceForge. The project ist in a pre-beta-state. There will be a playable version about end of this year. You may support us. We need Perl programmers for Linux and Windows, a graphic artist and someone who wants to design the website.
