the stable version of openForums is finally available - this fixes all known bugs, and adds a few extra bits and pieces. More features will continue to be added to the application as time goes on.
Thanks to John Boyes, Drew Harris, Robert Everland, h00ch and all the others who have helped with bug fixes etc, and thanks to Chris Montgomery for testing the create scripts for me.
Beta 1.7 has been released - this is the 1.0 release candidate. It adds built-in user management/profiling and security, which can be turned off by setting a single boolean to false, emote support with clickable interface, bbcode support, html stripping and several minor display improvements.
layouts have also been used to add global admin/user menus.
NOTE: the individual downloads in the querysets package have not yet been updated - please download the beta1.7 zip to get the latest queries. Updates to queryset packages will take place over the next week.
A few minor fixes, and updates to the help text etc. This beta release include table creation scripts for mySQL, but the queryset has been left out as mySQL doesn't yet support sub-selects. A modified version of the app may be released later on to work around this. Please email me if you're interested in the mySQL version.
Updated variable reference bug in dsp_message.cfm
also fixed button images - re-submitted as binary.
fixed a few minor display issues and added the ms access queryset and sql files.
Querysets are now available as seperate downloads, including sql creation scripts, for oracle, msaccess and sql server. postGres and mySQL are on the way, but if you have another database system you'd like to write queries for, please go ahead and grab a queryset and send us the translations so we can add them to the packages.
The fbx core files for cold fusion version prior to 5.0 have been added to the release, along with a copy of fbx_savecontent.cfm. I've also set up the reuseform tag calls to use cfmodule instead, and included a copy of the tag in the custom tags directory.
There is also a new file INSTALL.TXT in the root of the release, which should get you set up and running quickly.
The first beta of fbOpenForums is finally up. Many apologies for the delay in getting the code up everyone - but it's finally done. Go ahead -download it and start playing...
Almost done. I hit a minor hurdle with some of the query compatability, keeping it open to easily exchange queries for different databases but I think i've got something that will work happily for whatever. Code will be up very shortly - sorry for the delays!
