Resignation

I am resigning from my role in this project. I have moved my focus elsewhere.

I'm back

After a hiatus, I'm dusting off the source code and preparing to continue development. Anyone willing to take an active role is welcome to contribute.

New Admins for Fate!

Having found myself lacking time to devote to Fate, I have decided to enroll the assistance of two members to help with the administration of the Fate project.

Albion and Spungey will now be in charge of most things related to Fate, including the recruitment of talent, administration of releases, organization of tasks, and all of the other fun things that come with a "Project Management" position :)... read more

Version 0.1.3

After a -really- long time, version 0.1.3 is out. School has taken most of my time over the past few months, but I will have some time now that classes are over (even more time after exams are done :) Please try out this new version and post your comments and suggestions in the discussion forums!

Version 0.1.2b

I've posted a new version labelled 0.1.2b. This is very close to the 0.1.3 release, but there's one major bug I need help with. Please see the Discussion Groups for details.

The FAQ document, and several Design documents have been updated on the DocManager - http://sourceforge.net/docman/?group_id=4191

Please feel free to comment in the forums on what is there, and submit additional Design and Idea documents.

And for the progammers out there, I've put up the Fate Java API documentation at http://www.s3m.com/fate/javadoc/

Version 0.1.2 is here...

Not much new in the client, but the server has a brand new World Editor. Also, the code has been reorganized and even -commented-! As usual, I'd be really happy for any comments, code review, and testing on platforms other than WinNT. Enjoy..

- Creates accounts at the client's request
- Accepts and verify incoming logins
- Relays chat messages to and from connected users

Design Docs coming to SourceForge

I plan to place all Fate design documentation into the SourceForge Doc Manager in the near future. Until this is complete, you may want to see http://fate.sourceforge.net/old-site/ for design concepts and discussion.

Website now hosted on SourceForge

After lots of fun with getting a mySQL database account, attempting to password protect directories, and bugs with mySQLAdmin and quotation marks, I've finally been able to bring the Fate website over to SourceForce from s3m.com. Please continue to use http://fate.sourceforge.net for discussion, until we can figure out a good hierarchy to use with the group discussions provided by SourceForge.

Project launched on SourceForge!

Fate is now on SoureForge. We hope this will allow feedback from many more people than before. We will be taking design ideas until about the end of April.. then we start into heavy coding! Sign up now to help on what we think will be one of the best games of this genre.
