Cut and trim a file

t31pa

To trim your file to a certain length, or to remove multiple segments from a file, open the “Edit File” window (below). Enter each segment into the boxes, with the start time in the first row (Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Decimal) and the end time in the second row (Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Decimal).

For example, if you only want the second 10 seconds of a video (i.e. starting at 10 seconds, ending at 20), you enter “0:0:10:0” in the boxes in the first row, and “0:0:20:0” in the boxes in the second row. The click “Add” to add the segment to the cut list.

If you also want the fourth 10 seconds (i.e. starting at 30 seconds, ending at 40), you would add a separate cut; “0:0:30:0-0:0:40:0”.

Remember, when you cut a file more than once, the remaining segments will be joined into one file at the end of your process. If you want separate files, uncheck “Remove working files” in the process window.
