#4 Compiling Fame 0.8.9

I've compiled and installed libfame (0.8.9) and fame on
a number of computers (an Athlon and K6-2) both running
Red Hat 7.2 (kernel 2.4.18) with no problems. However
I tried to do the same for my celeron laptop this morning
(same versions and OS) and libfame will install but not
fame. The configure part looks fine but the make returns
an error along the lines of AM_PATH_LIB_FAME (?). I've
found this line in configure.in (line 38) but can't figure
out why this is happening on this computer alone. The
libs are installed and I've run ldconfig along with changing
the entries in /etc/ld.so.conf but I can't figure this one
out.
