I had several dead-locks while writing to ext3 file system while copying the raw DVD content and writing the ISO to the disk (with ImgBurn tool, but also with VirtualBox while copying with ddrescue in Ubuntu 16.04). There is a single big file being written to the ext3 file system.

Symptoms are the same - after some time the writing gets stuck (the application stops reacting in a strange way - unable to terminate). Access from command prompt to the mapped drive also gets stuck, Windows refuses to shut-down afterwards, needs to do power-down. Dead-lock is somewhere inside the ext2fsd driver, because formatting the drive as ntfs fixed the problem.

Confirmed, downloaded several DVDs with no problem to NTFS.

Even after uninstalling ext2fsd, the DVD started to work correctly too - after ejecting the disk, the drive disappears from Explorer (this always worked) and after inserting new disk, the drive appears in Explorer again (this did not work with ext2fsd - I had to unplug the DVD drive from USB and plug it again, same over eSATAp connection).
