This issue simillar to https://sourceforge.net/p/ext2fsd/bugs/154/ (Ext2fsd Volume Manager won't start on Windows 10), except that Ext2Mgr was working untill I moved my Windows 10 from one disk to another (I did it just by copying partition in gparted and updating bcd afterwards). Ext2Mgr seems to be the only program that is not working on my new setup.
I tried to delete any previously set fixed mount points (manually and by running DrvRemover), but still Ext2Mgr's window won't show up (the process is running, though). Mount.exe works fine: I was able to mount all partitions that I needed.
Forgot to mention: uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help.
Nevermind, after one more reboot it for some reason works fine. I tried adding fixed mountpoint by manually adding key to registry and after reboot Ext2Mgr started working fine. I'm not sure if that was what really affected it, because i wrote "I" instead of "I:" as a drive letter.
I probably won't be able to reproduce this issue.
Dmitriy,
could you be so kind and tell which registry key i can manually add to make it work again?
I have the same problem (process running, no UI, no mount) under Win7 x64 since i had to re-setup the system two months ago.
No versions of ext2fs work, i guess they hardened something within Windows in the meantime.
I spent several days trying to install/reinstall under all conditions.
Matt, would be nice to hear a sign of life of you guy, too! Remember, you're the magician here!
As a last hope, is there an alternative solution to mount ext4 under windows7? I must use data from ext4 partition in software that runs only under Windows ;(
