Announcement of Escuelas Linux Fix Pack 1 for the 8.10 32-bit and 64-bit releases

Continuing with our proposal to offer mini-packages as an agile improvement mechanism, we offer Fix Pack 1 for the 8.10 release, 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

This Fix Pack adds and configures everything needed to run WritingTool in LibreOffice. This allows you to use a powerful grammar checker for multiple languages.

In versions 8.9 and 8.10, we disabled LanguageTool -the predecessor of WritingTool- as we found some stability issues on some machines. The new and stable grammar checker is now enabled by default, so you do not need to do anything to start using it!

Note: The first time you access LibreOffice after applying this Fix Pack, you may see a message saying “Heap space too small”. This message is harmless and should not reappear in subsequent uses.

To install this Fix Pack, you should

1) Download the file
For 64-bit:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/escuelaslinux/files/escuelaslinux-8.10-english-64bit/EscuelasLinux-8.10-64bit-FixPack-1.tar.gz/download

For 32-bit:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/escuelaslinux/files/escuelaslinux-8.10-english-32bit/EscuelasLinux-8.10-32bit-FixPack-1.tar.gz/download

2) Open the file manager and go to the Downloads folder.

3) Decompress the downloaded file by pressing the right/alternate mouse button or trackpad button and select "Extract here".

4) Double click on the "FixPack-1" file that will be inside the EscuelasLinux-8.10-[64][32]bit-FixPack-1 folder, created when you decompressed the .tar.gz file.
