I have MikTex installed through chocolatey. It seems to run OK otherwise.
When I run EqualX, the program starts correctly, but after entering a formula it crashes.
I tried to change the paths through the prefernces dialog, but the changes don't seem to stick across restart.
The paths do look correct, though. Maybe that is not the problem. Can I debug what's wrong?

unfortunately, at the moment I can not know exactly whats the exact problem or to give you a good working solution. but I give you a tip:
* make sure the paths are correct and located at the 64bits version of Program files (Program Files (64bit)
I'm working to release the next version and I hope these issues will not appear in the next version.
best regards,
Mihai

Thank you for EqualX, which provided great service running without problems under Windows 8.1 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for quite a while.
However, all subsequent attempts to install EqualX on newer windows computers and operating systems (both Windows 8.1 and 10) have failed.
Most recently, attempted to install EqualX on a Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 by installing MikeTex 64 bit and Equalx by following links at https://equalx.sourceforge.io/downloads.html
Unfortunately, received the following two error messages at what appears to be the end of the installation process.
*"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem."
*The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem. "
So the Microsoft 2012 redistributable package was installed and environment variables added for MSVCP100.dll and MSVCR100.dll, but the code execution cannot proceed error again occurred.
Then copied the MSVCP100. dll and MSVCR100.dll libraries directly into the EqualX directory and received the error message:
*"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." *
Previous extended attempts to get EqualX to run by installing redistributables etc., chasing error messages etc. eventually allowed EqualX to run, but ended in frustration when EqualX did not display rendered LaTex, apparently due to some kind of problem with pdfcairo.
Sure hope someone can tell me what I am doing incorrectly or finds a solution or workaround through which this problem can be overcome.
Very much miss access to EqualX.
Thanks again.
