Not sure if this is really a feature request or bug.
Satellites are sensitive, technical, fragile things.
Currently in Empire, it takes a LOT of hits to take one
out. It is not uncommon for satellites to take six or more
hits from an a-sat missile before it finally falls out of the
sky.
Frankly, this is absurd.
There's also a bit of a disjunct that when a satellite is in
the process of launching, it only takes one a-sat hit to
take it out. After it's launched, it takes far more hits.
I propose that satellites should all take just one hit
before falling out of the sky, two at the most. With one,
the partially working satellite code is obsolete. With two,
it remains.
Fixed in commit cf960a5, v4.3.23. Shooting down a satellite in orbit now works exactly like interception of a launch: a hit always kills.
