After a year, we have an update. Not as much as should have been accomplished in a year, but there is a little nostalgic dungeon for those of you who played the Wizardry series. Ask the inhabitants of Llewralle about the 'dungeon'.
A new version of Eldritch is out. Some quests are added quest as well as a new city with NPCs and shops north of Gwyrath. The player can buy instruments and sheetmusic and play the music in-game (generated with different sounds depending on the choice of instrument to play). Taverns around the game world are now more active than before.
The first public release of Eldritch has been posted in the files section. A bit of history about this game - several years ago I wrote the first incarnation of this game engine, which I called 'Eldritch Dreams'. It was released for a short time but hosting problems occured and for the most part it seems to have vanished from the web. Since then I've reworked the engine a few times - this version of Eldritch was written from scratch to try out an idea I had to simplify the coding of the fake-3D first person view while still making it reasonably fast. After that I decided to revive the old project with a completely new game world (theres a plot this time, I swear!) and see what could be done with it.
