I have the last version of the FREECAD PCB extension updated today working with 0.16 FREECAD version on Mint Linux. To be honest, this bug is following the extension from the start and was never be corrected. When importing some STEP parts in Freecad, freecad is importing without any problem, having all the colors present and matching. When using PCB, the model is correctly imported, but having no colors ... mystery, co's this happens in this same software, Freecad ! This seems to be rather systematic with complex 3D models and concerns both STEP versions.

As an example, try to import this, and let me know :

    Hi,
I know about that. Please read: https://sourceforge.net/p/eaglepcb2freecad/tickets/64/. Module reads colours directly from step file and supports step file format saved in freecad.

Mariusz, the stuff happens with .step models made in freecad too ... The one I have zipped takes parts from another model and was made in freecad by adding parts made in freecad, then saved as .step. So it should come from some global setting bound to .step models as a whole .

for information, for some ".step" files, importing them into a new empty freecad project, and rexporting them to same ".step" file using "colored step files" partially solve the problem... However, for some components and using the same technic, it's stay the same and they still grey during freecad-pcb import phase.
