Version 2.2.3 of the E-GADS! project has been released through SourceForge. A number of important bug fixes are included in addition to some minor functionality enhancements. The documentation licensing has also been changed from the GNU Public License to the more appropriate GNU Free Documentation License.
Several bugs were found in the 2.2.1 release, one of which would have prevented successful upgrading. This release incorporates patches to correct these problems.
This version replaces the javascript calendar object with a GNU licensed version. All users should upgrade as soon as possible in order to avoid licensing issues with the old object.

Critical bugs were found in the two files tms_class_edit.php and tms_class_save.php which prevented the training class function from working. The problems has existed since version 2.1.0. Users of version 2.1.1 and 2.1.0 should download 2.1.1sp1 as soon as possible and extract the two updated files to their e-gads application directory.
E-GADS! (Electronic Ground Search and Rescue Administrative Database) version 2.1.1 is now available for public download.
This version provides an improved display of membership records. A new field has been added to the teams table to distinguish between non-operational (associations, government, etc.) "teams" and operational (those which respond to emergencies) teams.
An upgrade/patch is available for those wishing to perform only an incremental update from version 2.1.0.
E-GADS! (Electronic Ground Search and Rescue Administrative Database) version 2.1.0 is now available for public download.
This version is a major re-write to support operation in PHP environments with register_globals set to off. This is a significant security enhancement that prevents users from submitting variable values through CGI posts. Several other minor improvements are also in this version.
E-GADS! version 2.0.2 is now available for download.
This version adds no features or bug fixes, although the installation instructions have been updated to include MS-Windows specifics.
2.0.2 is provided in two versions: with and without map. The nomap version is considerably smaller and is useful for those installing on MS-Windows or to whom the Canadian map data is of no use.
This weekend I will be releasing E-GADS! v2.0.2.
With this release I will split the package into two streams: with map display and without map display. The map display is a non-critical component that requires complex configurations and will only work on unix systems. Further, the dataset currently only covers Canada and is of no use to users outside Canada.
This release will also be modified to be compatible with Windows platforms. Installation instructions will be provided for both Unix and Windows environments.
E-GADS! 2.0.1 has been released. This version overcomes numerous installation-related issues. This version also adds a vastly simplified setup (now the default) without map display.
It is with great pleasure that I announce the public release of E-GADS! 2.0.0 (Electronic Ground Search and Rescue Administrative Database System).
E-GADS! is an Open Source web-based database that enables ground search an rescue teams to track membership, certifications, search reports, events and training records. It is expected that the software will be adapted for other areas in the future.... read more
The intial distribution should be available online soon; I am preparing documentation for the project and readying the package for public release.
In the meantime, a demonstration version of this application is now online. To access it, please navigate to http://www.nbgsara.nb.ca and choose "Demo Database" from the navigation bar on the left. Use a user ID of demo with a password of demo - this will give you full access as an editor for the province of Ontario with access to all teams. The database is reset every two hours. Please feel free add/delete records - this system is completely separate from my production and development systems.
