D-Tailor: automated analysis and design of DNA sequences

Summary:

Recent advances in DNA cloning and synthesis technologies afford high throughput implementation of artificial sequences into living cells. However, our ability to design sequences to interrogate multifactorial biological processes and further engineer biological functions is lagging behind. We developed DNA-Tailor (D Tailor), a fully extendable software framework for multi-objective design of synthetic sequences. Specifically, D-Tailor permits the seamless integration of multiple sequence analysis tools into a Monte-Carlo algorithm for designing libraries of sequences that vary over a range of rationally defined parameters.
