This is a kind of milestone release, with A LOT of improvements in stability. I tested it on 800 users and it works quite fine ( except a little too high cpu usage perhaps, but I;m trying to reduce the resource consumption as well ... )
Most important reported bugs are gone.
NOTE: there is a small known bug on linux/solaris about restarting ( it doesn't release the ports). This is MINA's fault, but the guys didn't answer my post on their forum. So perhaps next MINA version will be better...
On top of all, it should handle large amounts of users ( someone please test and tell me :P )

After a long time, another DSHub version is out. This time, I've worked around more features for you. Fixed some bugs on the Theta version, and added preliminary support for Python scripting ( need some help on it ! ) and also translating into the most known languages ( need help on it as well ! )
I hope you like this new version and I await your feedback :)

The upcoming DSHub version ( Iota RC1) will have initial python scripts support. Since I'm not so good with python and I want to offer a way to script DSHub in python, I need some feedback with some scripts examples and how things can work better.
Also, I would like the python scripts to be similar to java plugins ( and use the same interface... ).

DSHub Theta RC4 Released !

This release brings a lot of new stuff.
ADC 1.0 is now officially supported so
please note that older clients will have
LOTS of PROBLEMS like :
-they wont be able to use PASSWORDS
-keys will not be VISIBLE.
Please update your client to Strongdc 2.1x
or Apex DC 1.0 Beta 5 or to DC++ 0.704 as
they are the ones supporting ADC 1.0
( or live with the unexpected ;))
Other changes : Multiport server is now
available ! You can setup as many ports
as you like, no restart no nothing !
Plain and simple.
The PING extension is now implemented !
From now on , pingers supporting it will
get from your hub everything they need
including hub_host, maximum users minimum
share and so on :) You can also autoregister
on all the hublists supporting it if you
like via the PingHH plugin ( read more in
the manual or the help ).

After more than a month of work here it is, the new DSHub, with a better look , better feel, almost everything better.
A lot of great changes, including GUI feel and look , support for plugins, modules added, a lot of fixes for bans, chatcontrol, regs, and so on !
Extensibility improved a lot with the new plugin support so go go go and start making them :D

A new tracker is opened, where you can download and see all the dshub plugins. Also you can add your own for the wide public :) Feel free to do that, I would be happy to see it
( Note that finished plugins are " closed " trackers, to see them you must change the browsing settings to "closed" or to "any" ).

I just added a new mailing list for DSHub commits ( to svn repository) which will keep you in touch with latest changes to the source code.

This release improves performance by adding the MINA library and functionality with the new chat control system.

I have decided to open up a tracker for each new feature of dshub, where people can interact with it before its done or released. I will also add there the info about it. Hope it will be useful :)

DSHub is a hubsoft ( server ) for ADC network, a network similar to Direct Connect , but using an advanced protocol.

DSHub is a new hubsoft for Direct Connect Network. It uses the ADC protocol currently in development by Jacek Sieka.
It's written in Java, multiplatform, and with a lot of new and interesting features.
What this release brings new ? Completely changed the threading, and the linked list that connects the clients, resulting in a theoretical 40 % improved memory usage and speed.

The DSHub Eta RC1 will be released soon. Dont expect many changes, they will come in time.

The RC13 is the last RC from the Zeta Version.
DSHub is now moving into Eta version.
Zeta brought lots of new features like the GUI , the logarithmic search scale and more !

In the new Zeta RC8 ( and later )
DSHub has now powerful searching features.
First, we need to make a distinction between the
automagic and the user searches.
First type is made by client at a regular interval
and DSHub keeps a liniar spam setting.
Second type are user searches ( manual searches )
that the user takes.
For this type (because of the human factor)
DSHub keeps a logarithmic spam setting.
This way, the 2nd search is at search_log_base
interval, but third, is at search_log_base^2
and so on, until the power gets to max_steps.
After this point, the user needs to wait
search_spam_reset seconds to get his burst back.
The searches are being kept in queue ( not ignored !)
and are processed once the timeout is completed
so user doesnt need to search again
but just wait for his search to be completed.
The messages appears as a fictive result
in his search box, which will be filled
once the search string is being sent to others.
