DotNet DAL Library / News: Recent posts

I've been working with DotNetDALLib a bit more lately and I'm running into a good number of bugs that I'm fixing. There were some serious problems with the update mechanism that I've been fixing. Once I've finished my work with the library and fixed all the bugs I've encountered, I'll do a point release of the new code.

I've released version 2.0 of the library. I've taken care of all the primary key related issues. The primary key may now be compound. It may be non-integer, and it doesn't have to be an identity field. The library still needs some testing. I'm about to use it in two separate projects, so I should be able to find some issues with it.

I've created a home page. I used a free template. Looks good enough for me. I also installed phpBB. This is my first time using it, so I'm curious to see how it works out.

Finally, in some bad news, I've managed to screw up the 1.1 release as well. A .inc file is missing which is needed for the CodeSmith template to work properly. I apologize for this mess. Instead of trying to quickly rectify the problem, I am fixing some bugs and adding some features and I will be posting a 1.2 release within a couple of days. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Sorry guys, I screwed up. Please do not download the 1.0 version of the library. I will be placing a 1.1 version up as soon as I can get through to the uploads site.

I've actually created this project to support another project called World-Wide Knowledge Base (http://sourceforge.net/projects/wwkb).

DotNet DAL Library was previously available on my personal web site under the name PeteDALLib. I decided to remove my name, but otherwise it is uncanged from what's available there (http://www.petedavis.net/petedallib.html).

Once CVS opens up (hopefully in a few hours), I'll get the code uploaded and produce a release.... read more
