A new version of DosUtils has been released (v1.0.9). View the ChangeLog and
Release Notes for more info. I have also included a version of the SeekOut program
that has a LOT of debugging information enabled for use with bug reports. You must
look at the Release Notes for this item to learn how to use it best.
Please let me know if any of the programs (especially SeekOut) have any bugs,
malicious or otherwise.
There is a bug in seekout where the wrong parts of memory are initialized. This means that it won't read the second line of the input file, and may have undefined behavior (it deleted EVERYTHING on my admins' network at school)!!
USE WITH CAUTION, OR BETTER YET, WAIT A FEW DAYS UNTIL I RELEASE A FIXED VERSION!!
Sorry about the inconvenience this has caused any of you. Live and learn...
The DosUtils project took third place in the high school individual part of the competition! Second was "Doug's Library System," and first was "BEARdatabase," or something like that....
A new bug was found during the presentation :^(
In qccn: loses track of log file while changing dir if specified log file is something like "..\log", or a non-absolute path.
The DosUtils project was selected as a finalist in the ISSAC contest!!
I and my sponsors will be at Indianapolis April 24th and 25th to receive the final evaluation. It involves handouts, a poster, and an oral presentation.
Because of this, I released DosUtils-1.0.4.
The major updates are:
- Bettered documentation
- Removal of 256 char-per-line limit on seekout
- Tidying of source code
- Synchronization of header and c file dependencies
- The start of HTML documentation... read more
Every major bug should fixed now.
The only problem remaining is the 128 char per line limit for reading from the source text file database of filenames.
Enjoy!
DO NOT USE SEEKOUT YET!!
I have found a bug that could zero-out memory at random locations! I will make a fix available, probably by 04-13. In the meantime, a test version of DosUtils is available for download, but I haven't compiled or tested it yet.
