Restarting the project

The latest original DOS-C public release is now on SourceForge.net. It has been a few years since the release of this code and it is being re-released for historical reasons. This release contains the last DOS-C kernel before the FreeDOS project branched their kernel. It also contains support utilities, including the original command.com. From this point, various 32- and 64-bit versions were developed, each experimental and never publicly released. This re-release resets the project release status to alpha, setting the stage to allow merging the experimental versions back into this main branch.

It should be noted that the goal of this project is not to produce a 100% MS-DOS compatible operating system. FreeDOS has done a good job of that. This project builds on the MS-DOS paradigm and adapts the programming model to modern processors.
