Roger's Weather Station / News: Recent posts

I have been trying to find drivers so that I can operate the weather station directly on my Solaris system, but Silicon Labs does not support Solaris, so this may be an issue. It would probably work on several different versions of Linix that exist, but for now, not Solaris.

Now that most of the functionality is complete, I am going to take and add a mysql backend to hold all the historical data. Having hte historical data in a database will also make it easier to graph as well as have more flexibility with what can be done with it, like have more history then the weather station keeps, as well as highs and lows as well as record highs and lows can be kept and retrieved easier.

The latest upload to CVS has the ability to add in an image from almost any source! Web cam or otherwise! Sorry streaming video not supported, but it can do images. An improvement. Not sure when the next tarball will be released that would include this function, I suppose if someone wants it, let me know and I will release it as a tarball.

Version 1.0 is now available in all formats that are posted on this site. Have fun, and let me know what you think, or what should be added.

Version 1.0 will be released within the next week. This will take it out of the Beta category that it has been in so far and place it into a full blown application. There are only a couple of small enhancements planned or foreseen in Version 1. Then, if it works out right, Version 2.0 will be a large upgrade, making the page more dynamic and faster to load, by only loading pieces that have changed instead of reloading everything. But that is a fair amount time away for that. For those with CVS, version 1.0 has been released, it has the tag "Release-Ver1_2_25_2007" and is now available for download. Tarball will be coming soon.

The code for this project has now been posted to the CVS repository. Minor updates will be made there first once they are functional, until it becomes a release.

The Beta version of Roger's Weather Station has been uploaded!

The first posting of this code has now happened and this project is under way. It has a few items that need to be completed before I would consider it a real release, but it is close enough to do an alpha release at this time. Lots and lots to do on this one though. Have to see how time goes to get it all taken care of.
I don't know for sure at this time if I will put this under CVS or not. I almost have it set up to, I just have to finish it on my side so that I can. I don't actually plan on using CVS until at least version 1.0, a full release.

A fair amount of work has been done on this and a Alpha release should soon be available. Just verifying the layout/look and feel, then I will post the code and images that make this project up.
