#10 Pidgin now won't start

I just compiled and installed current track on an existing and working Pidgin 2 final install on Ubuntu Linux. Now Pidgin won't start.

I run pidgin from a command prompt, and nothing happens. Literally:

$ pidgin

(nothing happens here - no errors, no pidgin gui, nothing)

Help?

And apparently it also fried my Amarok - it too refuses to start and doesn't give me any info!
