CoumadinRegimen Help Text Gerardo Arnaez, MD August 13,2008 version 0.1 ---2008-08-13 To start the program, execute"GUI.py" This is a python program so it will need the python interpreter. This can be downloaded at http://python.org/download/releases/2.5.2/ If you run windows, you will need to install python-2.5.2.msi [http://python.org/ftp/python/2.5.2/python-2.5.2.msi] Once python is installed, it should have installed IDLE,also. Run the python interpreter "IDLE", then load the program "GUI.py" Please enter only numbers (decimals ok). "Smallest Coumadin Increment?" is asking for the smallest dose that you want to adjust the coumadin regimen by, i.e., if you want to use 5mg tablets than you would enter "2.5". For my elderly, I use 2mg tablets and would enter "1" (half of a 2mg tab). Then just type in the coumadin dose per day, then hit the "OK" button. You will see the rest of the previous blank entries get filled in. If you don't like the suggested percentage change, then you can type in a new percent to adjust the coumadin dose in the space next to "Percent Increase in dose is". Note you are typing in only the numerical percentage value so don't type in "0.15" when you mean 15%, type in "15: and don't add "%" Once you have have entered in a new percentage value change, click on "Adjust Percentage?" button. There is no need to type in anything else. Please email me if you need help: garnaez (AT) gmail (DOT) com
