The good news: Clip2PNG now has two flavors, "Classic" which saves to lossless PNG format, and New Clip2JPEG, which, you guessed it, saves to JPEG format. The bad news: Max OS X users have absolutely no need for this program, they have the ability built in to the OS. (see http://digitalmedia.oreilly.com/2006/01/01/mac-os-x-screenshot-secrets.html ). Clip2PNG is released! Well, considering that it is around 20 lines of code, that isn't very exciting. But it does what it does very well, so download and take a look.
