Well, it's been a long time since i've thought about clanadmin, seems that i've let this great script fall thru the cracks. I've been working hard on a new release when i happened upon the forums , and realized that i've been ignoring them, even when i was developing code and active on this site. seems i've missed some good content to be added (cgm),
ah well, i'll have a good look at it once i get this next release out (2.4) which will have a few bugfixes and requested content in it, along with a whole lot of code cleanups. i got so busy in putting new content into the script that it got messy, everything was a hack of a hack (not quite that bad, but...)... read more
Excellent, v2.3 is here now (i decided to forgo my previous numbering scheme as there were too many changes to simply make this release v2.2.2 (also confusing number))
Including several odd bug fixes along with new functionability (editing members, easy match reporting from scheduled matches) make this my strongest release yet, And i'm also confident that this release is bug free, so confident that this will in fact be my first offical Stable Release!!!... read more
ok, heres how i'm planning next 2 releases (hopefully)
v2.2.2 (Stable)
to be released shortly, will basicailly deal with a couple quick bugs and a packing error, as well as add such functionability as changing player status and allowing draws to be incorperated in match results, also now allows a player to change his or her special line info (leaders/ppl with access still need to assign offense or defense)... read more
Ok, Here is a quick update to address a few things. All users are advised to update as there is a possible format string vulnerability in any version before and including 2.2.
This vulnerability allows members to post news as any author through the script, even if they have no permissions to do so.
Other features include a much needed GUI improvement, Ability to edit details of clans, maps, and leagues, and Easier match template setup. Also adresses the Matches page drop down menu bugs with Internet Explorer.
Ok, finailly :p, here is a new release to fix some things and probably create some new issues, lol
Well. to start, the main cgi has been split into several smaller chunks, this makes it easier to both edit, and upload to sites with restrictions on file sizes ofer 100k. It is needed and had to be done :/
Second is that the new base template will be the blueberry theme, altho it might not look as nice at first, it's much cleaner, it also doesn't use every avail option either, especially in the personal-template section, I'll leave the base theme to that at this time... read more
Well. it's been along time since any updates, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I havent droped the project,, just had to take some time away from it to take care of some other matters. anyways, i'm starting devel again and should have a new release to deal with bugfixes shortly, after that, i need to spend some time to restructure the script as it has grown too large to be easily contained and worked on in a single file (reasons for the single file origionailly was for easy of instilation, but now with all the theme files and such, might as well split the project up into modules)... read more
This is a bugfix (hopefully) for the
logged in as null error
To logout, simply close the window
After changing your password,
Either use the build in login feature, or
your embeded login form (on your website)
Ok, a new release to fix a few things
- The name you are logged in as now displays all the time
- Can no longer edit your own user permissions
- Fixed major bug that erased the database when you tried to change someone's permissions
- Changed the look of the Login Page
- Fixed a small bug with showing member bio's and updated the members template to fit it
- No longer allows more than 1 account to be created with the same name
- Can no longer delete your own account, or admin account... read more
Well, it's been about a month since the last release, the main reason, I moved at the first of the month (just as i was finishing 1.3) so i lost my internet connection for a while (my apologies to those that attempted to contact me). Well, anyways, since that time, i've continued to develop clanadmin, and since decided to call 1.3 version 2.0 since i feel there is enough changes from 1.2 to warrant a new major verson number. Also helps to keep things seperated, as V1. Database will no longer work for v2. (just as v0. would not work with v1.) you will have to enter in alot of data again, But hold off on hating me until you see what the new version holds :)... read more
ok, if your still having problems logging in, then download the v-1.02.1 cgi only upgrade, it has an extra error check added to the login process that will spit out an error page if it doesn't find the logins_index.dat file
on this page, it will display the true path to the clanadmin.cgi file, and you can use that, and figure out what the rest of the paths should be, once you patch that up, you should be able to login with no probs at all... read more
hi everyone
first of all, thank you for downloading and trying this script :)
I have been informed that some people are having trouble with the login sys again :/. and i will be working on this right away
for now, if you could send me a little info it would help me track down the bug faster
pretty much all i'm looking for is what os the server is running (linux, win2k, etc...) an possibly what webserver it is running... read more
well. it appears that the demo site for the script is down until next week (server crash) so until then i have found a mirror and setup ClanAdmin on it
3 accounts for you to test out
Login: leader Pass: clanadmin
Login: captian Pass: clanadmin
Login: member Pass: clanadmin

basicailly, i unpacked the 1.02 zip file, made the appropriate changes to the settings.cgi file, uploaded everything in ascii mode, changed the permissions that i needed to, and it was good to go
ClanAdmin is a Perl cgi script designed to make a clan webmasters/leader job alot easier. It makes ease of updating members, news, matches, schedules, and personal bio pages, and is especailly great for members with little or no html skills
Release 1.02 dealt with a few bugs, the main one being replacing the login and pass system with an encrypted one, but there were several smaller fixes too (mainly fixing the match writups, and news submission related)... read more
Ok, i've gotten a sample website up and running for you to see how clanadmin looks and feels
http://users.demented.org/~palebear/news.shtml
user: guest
pass: clanadmin
it's not full access, you cant add/delete members, , and you dont have access to the admin page (change each users permissions) and you cannot change the guest account password (there is no write access to that part of the database... read more
1.01 fixes some minor issues, mainly with encrypted passwords, and personal profile
for passwords, All encryption was removes, as i was having trouble decrypting the passwords on different operating systems, for now, just keep the logins_inxed.dat file in your cgi-bin dir, and if you have .htaccess, restrict all access to that dir with the exception to the clanadmin and settings.cgi
for the personal bio page, i fixed a bug that caused the personal_index.dat file to become curropted when more than a single line was entered in the users title area, not it will autoparse newlines, and handel them properly... read more
Ok, Beta 1 was released today, it was designed to support the Q3F (quake 3 fortress) mod for Q3A (Quake 3 Arena) but will little editing , would work with any game, eventuailly i will make a more generic script, but not untill i have all the bugs ironed out
