#31 scrolling with emacs with small window crashes vnc

Many times in the last year or so, I have crashed chicken when (a) scrolling emacs, and (b) using a smaller chicken window than usual. (The reason for using a smaller than usual window is that I sometimes have to operate without my usual big screen.) These crashes are automatically reported, but nothing seems to get fixed.
