[chessd-cexserver] Chessd Help

Dear sir,


I am setting chessd in rhel4. During this set up i have executed the
following steps
./configure,make and make install. I tried ./dbinstall.sh create but i am
getting the error

pgsql:fatal error authentication failed for 'root' .

What are the other ways to create database and how to do that. Is it
possible to create database with out running dbinstall.sh create.

In our server we are able to create database like chess_chessd not chessd.
In this case where i have to edit the new databse name, password etc(Note i
tried to change the new db name in chessd.conf but it is not reflecting when
i tried to run ./chessd -p 5002). and i am not able to run ./dbinstall.sh.

Your help will be a vital one in this regard.

Please can any one help me.

Dear Mr.Bona,

First I like to thank you and members of this mailing list since the inputs
for my various emails to this mailing list made me to do this chessd
installation in success .

Now i have sucessfully installed and i have some queries
 When i started chessd using ./chessd -p 5002 a set of things are loaded and
in the last and  it stopped with the following message


*CHESSD: /usr/local/share/chessd/data/usage*

*Wed Feb 28, 20:34 CST 2007 CHESSD: Loaded 111 commands (admin=14 normal=97)
*

*Wed Feb 28, 20:34 CST 2007 CHESSD: Can't read ratings data!*

*Wed Feb 28, 20:34 CST 2007 CHESSD: Loaded books*

and i have waited for some time but nothing happened and i am not sure
whether this is correct but when i checked the process status using ps -ef
it shows that chessd is running.

Secondly in the install notes they said to check with the server port using
telnet etc. Is it necessary to do that and i dont know how to login in to
the chessd.
