I've decided to uproot CharacterGen and put it over on Google Code. While getting ready for another project, I've come to realize that while some of SourceForge's features are more advanced, they often are more difficult to use. This being the case, I started that project at Google Code, and have decided to move CharacterGen there now, as I prepare to re-write it in VB.Net 2003 code.

CharacterGen is a tool for writers and artists both. It's designed for randomly creating large batches of characters with basic descriptions - gender, eye color, hair color and style for use as throwaway characters your main cast might meet in any given town.
However, with a little more setup, you can also use it to generate extremely detailed character profiles, suitable for use as main characters, or just to click through and get ideas from. Options for these extended profiles include over 50 races, the ability to have differently colored eyes, character comeliness, height, weight, age, hair styles, even small details like complexion and temperment - and more. And the characters are fully randomized, so it can be fun just to select all possible options, and see what comes up.... read more
CharacterGen v0.75 has been uploaded, and is now avalible for download. 100% character generation is now avalible! See the CharacterGen Summary page, and Homesite for more information.
Erm, heh, now that it's been pointed out to me that I mistakenly released v.0.0.4 as 0.1.0, I've reuploaded the program and source with the correct files.
This version sees the first implimentation of the male side of the program, and support for saving generated profiles to text files.
Added support for hair styles and skintones. See character-gen.sourceforge.net for more information.
The CharacterGen website is now up and operational at http://character-gen.sourceforge.net. Give us a visit. ^^
With version 0.0.3 comes the addition of Eye and Hair color generation to the female side of the program. My next goals are to finish up the hair styles and skintones, and then get the male side of the generator up to speed with the basic options. As the generator stands now, it has reached partial functionality on one of the two main goals, that being the quick generation of filler characters.
Happy generating!
Yeah, it's not much, but a version of the Character Generator is up with the first working generation scheme, the racial picker. With luck by the end of the week all of the 'Basic' options will be in and users will have a good idea of how well it works. Cheers!
