cdock was created for Mavericks but no longer works there - I had the Tiger option working (1.0.4) but when I restarted today, the app had a double bar through it and wouldn't launch. I downloaded an earlier version, but though it is now 2D the rest of it is horrible (unreadable white lights below apps instead of easy-to-see black dots). Furthermore there is a bug in it - when I double click the app I get an error about "tb4".
I have changed the info.plist in 1.0.4 so the minimum version is changed from 10.10 to 10.9 but it hasn't made any difference. It's pretty shameful that an application that was specifically created for Mavericks doesn't run in Mavericks anymore. Please resolve this. All I want is the functionality that was there before I restarted.
Install an old version and turn off automatic updates.

The amount of users on 10.10 in the latest version of cDock is 3%. I would imagine if it supported 10.9 the percentage would be about 1% or less.
It's not worth the extra time to support when there's already a working version that will never break because 10.9 will never receive any more updates from Apple.

Thanks - but which is the latest version that will run in Mavericks AND give me the Tiger black dots below open apps ?
Anything below version 1 will work on Mavericks.
Thanks. Unfortunately, none of the older versions are available (except the horrible 0.9.4 which I'm running now :( ). I just get a message saying "Cannot retrieve contributors at this time". Do you know where I can get a copy of 0.12.4?
By the way, Mavericks is my OS of choice - I have installations of El Capitan and Sierra as Virtual Machines, but only run them when I really have to. What you say about Mavericks may well be true, but why not leave 1.0.4 alone as it used to work in Mavericks? After all, the new version is 1.1.1 so there was no need to 'spoil' 1.0.4 for Mavericks users.
Cancel that - though there is a message saying "Cannot retrieve contributors at this time" there is also a Download button (how did I miss that!) So now I have 0.12.4 and it works just like 1.0.4 used to. Many thanks.

Hmmm I didn't relize 1.0.4 worked on Mavericks. You could use that if it was working for you before. Not sure what even changed post 1.0.4 that broke it. I'm just not actively testing/supporting 10.9 anymore.
