Initial SVN commit for the new byzgl-desktop (ByzantineOS desktop environment).

To run 'byzgl-desktop' you will need XULRUNNER:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/xulrunner/releases/1.8.0.1/linux-i686/en-US/xulrunner-1.8.0.1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.gz

The steps are:

1. untar 'byzgl-desktop.tar.gz'
2. cd byzgl-desktop/desktop
3. untar 'xulrunner-1.8.0.1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.gz' inside the 'desktop'
directory (this will create the xulrunner directory)
4. cp ./xulrunner/xulrunner-stub ./desktop... read more

The new desktop environment for ByzantineOS is a 'application container' for single-application devices powered by embedded linux.

The desktop environment is itself a xulrunner (http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/XULRunner) application.

The desktop applications are XPI extensions.
