When encapsulating instruments so they can be reused, what's the best way of handling function tables? I read somewhere in the manual that ftgen is a good way forward, so I've been doing something along the lines of : gisinetab ftgen 0, blah, blah, blah However the gi variable is a global variable, am I going to run into name space clashes if I have more than one instrument that uses a variable call gisinetab? It's difficult to remember to come up with unique names for these things. I'm guessing there's a good solution, if not I can imagine a way of having blue handle them seamlessly. It'd be fantastic to have an instant feedback table viewer too, I see this is mentioned in the Tables Manager section of the manual. I take it the tables manager only takes input of the form: f1 blah .... Which limits it's use in encapsulated instrument design. Now if the tables manager existed within the instruments and objects, had some nice syntax for using local table names and automatically rendered the table, preferably with graphic handles for grabbing bits of the thing and swinging it around it'd be amazing. Might have to dust off my java book :) thoughts? J. |
