For some reason I can't get any sound from any of my own projects. I followed, step by step, Andres Cabrera's "Your First Tutorial" and, even though it seems to be processing and rendering correctly, I can't get any sound from that project either. When I load up one of Steven's example projects, though, it processes, renders and outputs sounds perfectly. I've attempted to use the same command lines from Steven's projects into my projects, but still no luck. I've used 'csound -d -o dac', 'csound -o dac0', 'csound -+P', none of these work. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? I've looked through the Blue Manual, but can't find any information on how to input notes onto the piano roll. Anyone? Another thing, in the Blue manual it says, 'If you need to remember the syntax for an opcode, place the cursor over it and press Shift-F1. If you have set correctly the Csound Documentation Directory, the html help for the opcode will be displayed if available. See the section 'Installing blue' on the main blue documentation (F1) for details on setting up the C.D.R.' When I press Shift-F1, nothing happens. When I push Shift on its own, it opens Csound's html manual, which is fine-- I can look up the syntax from there. Though, it seems that the placement of the cursor has no affect on which syntax is opened. No matter where the cursor is, when I push Shift on its own, it opens the whole Csound html manual, not the syntax or opcode that I hovered the mouse over. Small gripe, I know, but it is such a handy feature, especially for a beginner, that I'd like to know if this problem is on my end. One last thing: I'm extremely interested in using Blue in combination with Cecilia. How do I access the CeciliaModule? There doesn't seem to be an explanation in the manual, besides it being a soundObject. Are there any tutorials for using Cecilia and Blue together? Sorry for all the basic questions. I'm going through some growing pains here. Thanks, everyone, for your help. Thanks to Steven for this program. Amazing work. I salute you! Jared Dunne |
