Hi All, I've put up a beta of 0.106.0 at: http://www.kunstmusik.com/blue_0.106.0_beta_installer.jar *NOTE* - This is a beta! Use at your own risk! That aside, I'm using this for my own work and it's stable, so should be alright. I am asking for volunteers to test this out to try the new render system to see how it feels and any feedback you'd have to improve it before 0.106.0 is released. For the render settings, most of those in the Program Options are set to use as defaults, meaning they are set and are transferred to new projects. The exception to this is the Device settings in Realtime. The way this now works is that you can set your project to use Audio and Midi Out and In, but those settings are set up on the Program level, not on the project level. This is useful for moving projects between computers, where each computer may have different audio and midi settings, but you'll still want to have those features enabled for the project. You can always not use any of these settings and set using advanced options, btw. Hopefully this new system will make things a little easier to configure and be a little more approachable for new users. Currently there are buttons on the Device settings in Program Options that don't work; those will be used for discovering device options but is not yet implemented. I also just noticed the UI is a bit misaligned for the Project Properties, but that will be fixed by release. I will also move to making the disk render settings more default based so that can be changed at the project level for file format, etc. rather than having program wide settings for that. Otherwise, will be very happy to hear suggestions. I'm going to be doing some cleanup and changes as mentioned in the previous paragraph and then will focus on documentation. Any feedback greatly appreciated! steven p.s. - images seem to be missing in documentation; going through some upgrade issues but will have all resolved by release >Notes for 0.106.0< [released 2006.xx.xx] Steven Yi----------------------------------------------------------------------- blue [new] - New Render System - Many Render Settings are configurable by GUI; Program Options mostly set default settings for new Projects except for realtime render settings, which are to be used on a proram wide level; Projects have the option for complete override to set commandline to match older workflow [new] - Reorganized Program Options Dialog with new settings for Rendering, added ability to turn message colors on and off (off by default, which should always be set to off when using with blue and the Csound Output Dialog) [new] - Add SoundFile Preview to FileChooser Dialogs (Feature requested by Will Light) [new] - Python NoteProcessor - Use python code to process noteList generated by SoundObject; blue NoteList class is introduced to python interpreter before processing as variable "noteList" and that holds blue Note classes; methods for NoteList and Note are the same as in the Java classes; please see Java code for NoteList and Note for more information, or also see Python NoteProcessor documentation -example added in examples/noteProcessors/pythonProcessor.blue [new] - Added shortcut (Ctrl-l) and Project menu option to toggle loop rendering for project (requested by Menno) [new/updated] - TextArea's that use BlueEditorPane now paste for when clicking with middle mouse button (requested by Andres Cabrera) [fix] - for older projects, always set mixer to disabled regardless of if ProgramOptions is set to enable mixer by default or not [fix] - for projects which have no instruments in their orchestra (i.e. if a project is only using Sound SoundObjects), if mixer is enabled, do not generate any mixer code as it won't be used |
