Hi Gary, The Mixer documentation should explain a bit about the implementation: http://csounds.com/stevenyi/blue/usermanual/html/mixer.html My guess, not knowing exactly what is in your .blue project, is that your instruments are not set up to use the blueMixerOut pseudo-opcode. The Mixer is not meant to be scheduled but be always-on, as are effects. This is how a mixer in other composition environments work.=20 You should not need to initiate the mixer by score as that is taken care of for you. As for the mixer output, do you get anything with the example project that comes with blue (it is in blue/examples/features/mixer.blue)? If not, then there might be a bug. =3D( Let me know if the documentation is missing anything in explaining the mixer; any suggestions to making that better would be greatly appreciated! steven On 4/27/06, Gary <pa...@in...> wrote: > Newbie, here. > > I've gotten around to the mixer. > > I appears that the mixer creates a new instrument who's output is the > weighted sum of all the instruments. > Here's what I observe, and my questions: > > - The number of the instrument is chosen by blue. > - For input, the mixer instrument uses global (?) variables such as > ga_bluemix_0_1 > - all the inputs are summed and collected in a_bluesub_Master_0, etc > - and output via an outc statements > - The CSD that is generated automatically contains a score line that > plays the mixer instrument > > Why don't I hear anything ?? :) > Can I access the instrument without generating a CSD and looking at it > to find the number of the mixer instrument? > Why does blue generate a score line for the mixer instrument?
