Hi Paris, Glad to hear your family situation is ok! Also glad that the piano roll is working out now. As for delete, I notice on PC's (Linux or Windows), the key that is labelled delete deletes the character ahead of the cursor, while the backspace key does a delete to the left of the cursor. On my gf's iBook, the key I associate with backspace from the PC world is labeled delete. I also notice that I have to end up using the delete key when using OSX at work to do what I would associate with the PC delete key, not the backspace key. So, it's all a bit strange in the end. I think for Mac users, using the delete key (PC backspace key) is the general norm for removing groups of objects. I'll see if I can find out what that key is on OSX and set that to delete groups of objects for the PianoRoll, groups of SoundObjects, and also groups of objects in the BlueSynthBuilder. On the other hand, the easier solution would be to be able to select a group of notes and right-click for a popup menu and have the option to delete the notes. Or maybe both would be best. =) Not sure if I can try out modifying the delete key thing on OSX until tomorrow when I get to work. I'll try to add a popup for removing notes today. steven p.s. - Current CVS has zooming of note heights and pixels per second for the pianoRoll. =) Paris wrote: > hi, > > as you can see from my last email, i'm excited about using the piano > roll. > i just wanted to mention something strange that i'm noticing on mac os > x using a powerbook. > > i tried to delete a note by selecting it and hitting the delete key > but nothing happens. > after some experimenting, i found that hitting function-delete does > the job. > > best, > paris > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide > Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. > Discover which products truly live up to the hype.
