I certainly consider myself proficient with quite a few digital audio hosts and programs (and have programming experience), but I find pure data to be confusing at best and mind-bending at worst. I know some people who do astounding work with PD. I have no idea how, though! ;) I think part of the problem is the (apparent) lack of documentation. Anyway, this isn't intended to start a csound vs PD debate. I do agree that having at least rudimentary knowledge of csound via text-editor is helpful in understanding how blue works. Although daunting at first, I think that csound is one of the most straight-forward and flexible high-level languages for sound synthesis. -- --------- ------- ----- ---- --- -- - - - - - k.m.krebs \ 833-45 : http://www.833-45.net nishi net.audio : http://www.notype.com/nishi --------- ------- ----- ---- --- -- - - - - - why is it all so beautiful, this fake dream this craziness, why? -- Ikkyu |
