Hi Paris, Once you add it the orchestra, you also have to assign it into the Arrangement. You do this by selecting an instrument in left-hand library, then in the upper pane you use the "+" button to add it to the arrangment. You should then get an entry in the arrangement table with your instrument and the instrument ID assigned to it. If you want to change the instrument ID, you can do that in the table. After that, you can then write any score in the timeline referencing that instrument's ID. Let me know if that works for you, if not, I'll take some screen shots and illustrate graphically. steven Paris wrote: > hello everyone - > simple question and one that i should know (sorry steven!) > > i'm working on a piece where i want to use several instruments that i > have already defined in other csd files. > > so... i import each CSD file. > i go to the orchestra tab, find the instrument i want. > copy it. > then paste it into the instrument library of the new file i'm working on. > it shows up fine and i can add it to the orchestra. > so far so good. > > now, i go to the score tab and add a new track. > i want to add this instrument to my score - but how? i don't remember. > > thanks! > p > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: YOU BE THE JUDGE.
