I did some research and the problem is due to a compiler bug in Java. I had done some updating of code after 2.6.0 to use newer Java language features and unfortunately it created the issue. A bug report for the Java compiler looks like it will be fixed in a newer version of Java, but for the meanwhile, reverting the code change to use older style code looks to fix it. I'll have this in the next next test build.
