Dear list, I now installed Cmask onto my Ubuntu-system, but it does not respond yet. Here is what I did: 1. I downloaded and expanded the Linux-version of Cmask (cmaskLINUXi386) from https://www2.ak.tu-berlin.de/~abartetzki/CMaskMan/CMask-Download.htm 2. I copied the file cmaskLINUXi386 into the folder usr/local/bin (the strange thing was, that the folder has been totally empty before - I would have expected to find at least csound there. At my OSX System that folder is quite populated) 3. I specified that path to the program in the external sound object. By then the external sound object kept complaining it would not find the object cmaskLINUXi386 although the path was specified correctly. So I did the following step to solve that: 4. I altered the permissions of the file cmaskLINUXi386 to specify that it should act like a program/executable and not just like an ordinary file. Then I tested again with the same code for testing inside the external sound object and the output was just black emptyness. I mean no score, no error-message, no crash - but just an empty window. Now I have got two questions: 1. Did I put the program cmaskLINUXi386 at the right location? 2. Did I download and use use the right file? Maybe cmaskLINUXi386 is not made for Ubuntu running on a 32-bit Mac? Maybe that Linux-Version of Cmask does not run on my Ubuntu?
