Well, my intention was to use the piano roll to lay out a particular pattern within a particular scale, having the convenience of having all available notes on the piano roll not toooo 'wrong'. Once I had a selection of such patterns, to then be able to repeat them in other keys & modes. Within a set of major keys, okay, a fairly straightforward transformation, likewise between minor or any set of the same modes. Hmmm, I guess what I'm suggesting is a way to echo (& perhaps modify) a piano roll between different scales?
