Have tried again with first openJDK then now Oracle7, but no luck getting Blue to run. Indeed the same NetBeans message as before. I am on a new Ubuntu installation, on a newish Intel platform. ~$ java -version java version "1.7.0_67" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_67-b01) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode) ~$ The NetBeans Platform8 window pops up, some disc activity and that is all. Looking at this exception mentioned in the terminal, no there is no /var/cache/lastModified/ directory at all. Looking for other encounters of this message, a user queries if ~/.netbeans may have only root ownership, but I see no .netbeans files, nor .blue configuration file. ~/blue/bin$ . blue cat: ./../etc/bash.clusters: No such file or directory java.io.FileNotFoundException: /var/cache/lastModified/all-checksum.txt (No such file or directory) at java.io.FileOutputStream.open(Native Method) at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(FileOutputStream.java:221) at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(FileOutputStream.java:171) at org.netbeans.Stamps.compareAndUpdateFile(Stamps.java:477) at org.netbeans.Stamps.stamp(Stamps.java:364) at org.netbeans.Stamps.moduleJARs(Stamps.java:315) at org.netbeans.Stamps.file(Stamps.java:201) at org.netbeans.Stamps.asByteBuffer(Stamps.java:206) at org.netbeans.Stamps.asByteBuffer(Stamps.java:186) at org.netbeans.Archive.<init>(Archive.java:120) at org.netbeans.JarClassLoader.initializeCache(JarClassLoader.java:107) at org.netbeans.MainImpl$BootClassLoader.run(MainImpl.java:337) at org.netbeans.CLIHandler.initialize(CLIHandler.java:598) at org.netbeans.CLIHandler.initialize(CLIHandler.java:384) at org.netbeans.MainImpl.execute(MainImpl.java:193) at org.netbeans.MainImpl.main(MainImpl.java:85) at org.netbeans.Main.main(Main.java:78) On Sun, 2014-08-10 at 08:50 -0400, Steven Yi wrote: > Hi Adam, > > I just realized you are using OpenJDK.
