I do not use Ardour a lot, only when i want to try out a multichannel setting. I know the region list and i think it takes up space. For professional work with audio i use Cubase. Everybody tells me that Pro Tools (and a mac) is the way to go for these kind of things, but i have used Cubase for 20 years (Atari!). In Cubase with Crt+P a Pool Window opens where i can import sounds. When clicking on the tiny waveform i can hear it. Gives info about format and sample rate, length and so on. One can drag the soundfile from there on the timeline. I prefer this way, because i find the Region List in Ardour a bit confusing: it is there all the time and does not give any information - apart from how many time it is used in the timeline. It looks like your File Browser is the Pool Window in Cubase --> +1 for that system! -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Audio-Layers-Region-Lists-or-not-tp5726938p5727033.html Sent from the Csound - Blue - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
