Ah, that's great! It took a while to figure out as I hadn't looked at that code in a while. I rediscovered that if you don't drain the stdout and stderr before killing a process, it can end up locking. I remember fiddling with this in the past and thought it was good to go, but turns out it wasn't quite so good on Linux. The modification I did was to change how I ended csound, which was to send an "e" score event. However, I think this may not work on Windows as I don't think pipes work, which I'll have to test. Also to note, one thing that hung me up was that PIPES wasn't used in the CMake build for Linux. I think that was fixed in Csound's repo but not in Debian. I'll mention this to Felipe in an email. I'll look at doing a 2.2.1 release that has a fix that works on all systems today, as it may take a couple more weeks to get 2.3.0 out the door.
