Hi Steven, First of all, have a great trip to Bella Roma. . Well, after implementing your suggestions, blue is still crashing after rendering a project for the first time with the "Use Csound API" option engaged. It only seems to work when that option's check box remains unchecked. I even edited the blue.config file to read as it said in the manual, but that didn't work, so I changed the config file back to its original state. I went to the Tools/Options/Rendering tab in the program and entered the path to the csound folder, and that didn't work. I even went so far as to point the program to the jclibrary file, and that didnt't work. I then swithed the rendering option back to its original setting of "csound". To reiterate, I am using a Windows XP machine Quad processor with 4 gigs of ram. I am using Csound version 5.17 installed form the file"csound5.17.gnuwin32-d.exe"., so it should be using 64-bit calculations. I removed all previous versions of Java from my computer, and downloaded JaveSE 1.7. In its directory resides the folder "JRE7. I downloaded and unzipped "blue version2.2.2" and read the installation instructions and followed them. I loaded your project "Etude 1" as a test each time I made a change and got the same results (plays and stops normally with the "Use Csound API" box unchecked/ Render once and then crash when the "Use Csound API" option is checked. The same thing happened when I contructed my own project and used one of my own instruments. I am not a computer programmer. I'm more of a musciam that uses computers, I am self taught in Csound.. That being said, I probably have missed something along the way. Thanks once again for your help, and please, don't let this issue interfere in any way with your trip to Rome. I'm sure we'll get it sorted out. I really look forward to using this program as it will save lots of time typing repetitive code and will facilitate the Csound compostion process by making it much more spontaneous. Caio, Jon Rowell ps I think the step sequencer/mod matrix would a great feature |
