Hi All, I was catching up on reading Computer Music Magazine and saw a review of Dmitry Sches's Diversion. I was watching the CM video here: http://www.dmitrysches.com/diversionfx and had the thought that BSB would be nice to have a Mod Matrix and Step Sequencer. Some thoughts: * The Step Sequencer could either generate code to handle creating an ftable, writing to it, and reading from it into a variable. BSB coding then would be simply using the variable as other widgets, such as: aout vco2 <amp>, <stepSeq1> * kpch Does this sound good? An alternative would be to make it just generate an ftable, but I think the above would be more immediately musically useful. Also, I guess I'd need to figure out a way to sync to tempo, which I think I could do by generating some tempo variable (another feature that would be globally useful I think for effects, etc.) * For a Mod Matrix, I had come up with: -2 lists of sources and targets, user defines from Widget Properties, would be names of variables -<mod_matrix_1> - inserts code for handling mod matrix (may use a generated UDO for tidier output) -user responsible for generating source signals and using target signals -<mod_matrix_1> - generated code will initialize all variable at start of instrument for example: kenv adsr <attack>, <decay>, <sustain>, <release> <mod_matrix_1> asig vco2 <amp>, <pch> afilter moogladder asig, <cutoff> + <cutoffMod>, <res> The matrix could allow multiple modulation sources to a target. I'm imaging something similar to the one in DiversionFX with a source, amount, target, but would be a non-fixed list with a [+] button to add more modulations. Any comments appreciated! steven |
