I've been hammering the manual, and as a very new user of Blue (and csound) i can safely say my brain is melting. (woohoo, progress) My first questions are basic, but i'll add my setup, in the hope it clarifies what i'm trying to do. Gentoo 64bit, Csound 5.12 built from a Gentoo ebuild ( including java), and Blue, running from it's own dir. I'm using JACK as the audio, and want to use ALSA as the midi (in the absence of jackmidi) I have Blue up and running, but although i've selected Csound API use (via the checkbox), i get no terminal notification telling me i'm using the API. Is this a problem i'm storing up for the future? Should i be building Csound direct from source to use this feature? As far as i can tell (at this stage) Blue seems to be running ok, and i've managed to include the choice of using ALSA midi, without errors. (rt-midi=ALSA) What i can't find is the means to use ALSA midi input from my midi controller driving the Reson6 synth, and record the output in a track. Which object would i use for this, and how do i get Reson6 to respond to alsa midi input, to record notes? As per a previous post in the LAU list, i also note that the fine jackmidi hasn't made it's way into Csound or Blue just yet, so i add my enthusiastic voice to the masses clamouring for this request. (if the masses are indeed, enthusiastic) My apologies in advance for the basic questions, but i hope i can keep them to a minimum. I shall continue to try and source answers on the interlink before asking here. Regards, Alex. -- www.openoctave.org mid...@op... dev...@op... |
