Ok, I'm new to blue, so I might be missing something obvious here, but I was trying to follow the tutorial at http://www.csounds.com/stevenyi/blue/usermanual/html/firstProject.html I know this is for an older version of blue, but I was hoping things would still work similarly enough for me to figure out. This tutorial says First we will give a name to our sound layer. Simply click on the black area below 'Name' and type the name (e.g. 'Notes'). The sound layers look different than in the current version (I was working with 2.0.2 and just downloaded 2.0.3) -- there is an obvious "Name" column to enter the sound layer name, and checkboxes for 'Mute' and 'Solo'. The current version has buttons labeled 'M', 'S', 'N' and 'A', and a blank space to the left of those for the name. ('M' and 'S' are clearly Mute and Solo, but 'N' and 'A' are mysterious.) There is a space to the left of these buttons for the name. I have tried clicking, right-clicking, looking in the menus, and basically everything I can think of (except for looking in the source code) but I have yet to find the magic formula for getting a name into that box. It seems impossible. BTW, I'm running this in Ubuntu Karmic Koala, with whatever its default java is, in case that matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Forrest Cahoon |
