Hi, I´m an argentinian composer and teacher. Well, the problem is that while opening blue64.exe 2.8.1 version, while showing the message "Loading module services..." the opening crashed. Would you solve this issue for me please? Thanks, Teodoro Cromberg |

Are the blue docs available as a PDF? It would be nice to be able to annotate them. -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe." |

It may provide some more information that can help to diagnose what is happening. Please see this issue: https://github.com/kunstmusik/blue/issues/651#issuecomment-1107655658 That has information on how to use the latest dev build to get around this. The last release of Blue was done when the Java ecosystem was a little different and the scripts that start Blue don't detect for JVM correctly. The latest dev builds include a JDK embedded within the app so it should run out of the box. You may need to delete preference folder prior to starting. Steven, I'm having some troubles with Java, Blue 2.8.1, an M1 Mac and Monterey. Everything works fine on an Intel Mac with Monterey. With the M1, I'm getting an issue with Blue complaining about the Java version: org.netbeans.InvalidException: StandardModule:com.kunstmusik.blue.plaf jarFile: /Users/pfisher/Desktop/ blue.app/Contents/Resources/blue/blue/modules/com-kunstmusik-blue-plaf.jar: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: blue/plaf/Installer has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0 I've installed Java 11 and 17 but I have a feeling the Java 8 JRE is still lurking (I know the Internet Plug-in is) and the Java Control panel is not recognizing the other versions. Anyone have any tips on getting rid of Java 8? I haven't seen this before. Double checking: can you confirm you had exited Blue prior to deleting the c:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\blue folder? A couple of other questions: 1. Does your system use network drives? 2. Where did you place the blue folder prior to executing blue64.exe? Try two things: 1. Try deleting your blue preferences. Should be in c:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\blue. There's been similar issues reported that I haven't figured out how to reproduce which seems to get fixed by deleting the preferences. 2. Try using blue64.exe. (I'll probably remove blue.exe and make blue64.exe the default to avoid confusion moving forward) On Wed, Apr 20, 2022 at 2:34 PM giulio romano < giu...@gm...> wrote: > I've download from this link > https://github.com/kunstmusik/blue/actions/runs/2141672361 > the Blue windows zip. > > I've unzipped the file and I ran the blue.exe program from the "bin" > folder. > when it opens: > > Il lun 18 apr 2022, 04:04 Steven Yi <ste...@gm...> ha scritto: > >> I'm confused, the latest WIndows build I linked to includes Java with it. >> Is this the one you tried? I've download from this link https://github.com/kunstmusik/blue/actions/runs/2141672361 the Blue windows zip. Dear Jan Jacob, This is the latest dev work for 2.8.2. It is returning back to Swing and removing JavaFX, of which the work is mostly complete but still has some things to fix. I would suggest making backups of any projects before testing this as a just-in-case. If you have Java installed onto your system, this should not be an issue as Blue will launch with its included version now and is isolated from the system's Java. Thanks! Dear Steven, thanks, I will try that. Do I have to uninstall my current version of Java on my Mac first or will they both run in parallel without interfering each other? And: Is this also an update of blue or is it blue 2.8.1 now bundled with Java? Hi All, FYI: I've made a change for macOS builds to now include Java 17 JDKs with the release. This should "just work" now when you download Blue (assuming you have Csound installed). There are two versions, one for arm64 (i.e, M1 processors) and another for x86_64 (i.e., Intel processors). The trick is that the version used should match your CPU as well as the version of Csound you have installed. 1. If you have an intel CPU, use the x86_64 version. 2. If you have an M1 processor and using the current Csound macOS installer release, use x86_64. 3. If you have an M1 process and built Csound using Homebrew or self-compiled, use arm64. The windows build was already embedding a JDK and was updated to Java 17. Latest builds are testable here: https://github.com/kunstmusik/blue/actions/runs/2193533644 If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know. Thanks! Steven |

I'm confused, the latest WIndows build I linked to includes Java with it. Is this the one you tried? It should run without any intervention without any other java installed. If the linked one was used, could you provide more information than "it didn't work", e.g., can you list the steps you took to execute the application. Hi Giulio, This may be a problem with the last published version of Blue. Could you try downloading the latest dev build here (requires login with Github account): https://github.com/kunstmusik/blue/actions/runs/2141672361 >From the artifacts section for Windows build. This build should include a JDK with it. Let me know how this one goes, thanks!
